Hydropower dams, the anwer to a green world. Is it?
The main objetive of these hydropower dams was to reduce the use of fosil fuels, in order to harm less the world. However, their use is as harmful as using fosil fuels.
Hydropower dams' life is shorter than expected and the energy that is produced isn´t as useful as people want.
Besides that, the cost of them is higher, talking about money and for the world.
The idea of building hydropower dams dates from the 1980's and they have been working for a time; nevertheless, as time passes, people have discovered a lot of problems caused by them and the idea was not as good as people thought at the beggining.
When a hydropower plant is built, the enviroment is at risk. Lakes are destroyed, animals need to search for new homes, population may have a flood, the electricity obtained is not enogh and they need an expensive maintenance.
Hydropower plants cause problems that can not be repaired in the future and the construction of more plants is unnecessary to the world, because they produce few energy and a lot of damage.
So, what do you think, are the hydropower dams as ecological as thought?
