The history of the Navy of Mexico has its beginnings with the creation of the Ministry of War and Navy, on October 4, 1821, where the Navy was assigned, which was in charge of matters relating to the coasts and national seas.



History

1939: National Navy Department is created.

December 31st 1940: National Navy Department becomes Secretariat of State.

1941: Officially founded by President Manuel Ávila Camacho.


Mission

Use the naval power of the Federation for foreign defense and assist in the internal security of the country, in the terms established by the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, the laws derived from it and international treaties.

José Rafael Ojeda Durán

He was born in the City of Xalapa, Veracruz, on February 3, 1954, he entered to the Naval School Heroic in 1969.

In 1974 he graduated as a Geographical Engineer and Naval Mechanical Engineer.

-Chief of Assistants of the Chief of Naval Operations and of the Senior Marine Officer

-Chief of Staff Section

-Chief of Staff of Naval Areas

-Deputy Director General of Security and Social Welfare

-General Director of Human Resources

-General Director of Research and Development

-Subdirector General of the Social Security Institute for the Mexican Armed Forces (ISSFAM).

-Inspector and General controller of the Navy

-Head of the Internal Control Body ( Secretary of Public Function)

-Military professor and head of the General Corps Race at the Heroic Naval School.


Agenda 2019

-Gasoline Theft: SEMAR plans to solve the problem by protecting the national seas.

- Recruitment: Recruitment to naval schools, this year have 600 places available for men and women from 18 to 20 years who wish to attend one of the nearly 16 professional and professional technical courses taught at the Heroic Naval Military School, the Naval Medical School and at the Naval Nursery School.
