November 8, 1821: Secretariat of State for War and Navy is created.

November of 1937: It changes its name to Secretary of National Defense.

Organize, administrate and prepare the Mexican Army and Air Force, in order to defend the integrity, independence and sovereignty of the nation.

He was born on February 7, 1960, in Ensenada, BC, he entered the Heroico Colegio Militar on September 1, 1975, from which he graduated as a Second Lieutenant of Cavalry on September 1, 1979.
