The project is still in the phase of measuring the effects by means of neuropsychological tests.
Through a research project, the doctor in biomedical sciences Laura Elisa Ramos Languren tests with a computerized training program that could be used as a treatment to "reverse" or "cure" memory damage in older adults who suffered or suffer of some cerebrovascular disease (CVD). The researcher, who is also a full-time C teacher at the Faculty of Psychology of the UNAM (Autonomous University of Mexico), is a woman distinguished by her project which was based on giving 5 scholarships with the help of L'Oreal-Unesco for women specialized in science, in its 2K18 edition.

Dr. Laura Elisa Ramos Languren explained that she did not come alone with the idea, but that a team from the INR (National Institute of Rehabilitation) also, with the help of the Doctor, developed the training program, as already mentioned, to improve and help the memory of older adults suffering from the ravages of CVD. She said "the idea of the program is clear from the master's thesis of the neuropsychologist Daniel Landínez and Dr. Rigoberto González, who began their development to rehabilitate the memory of work, which is the most affected in patients with CVD, and after two years already have a version that allows you to apply various training tests to improve it. "

Currently, as I had already mentioned, the project is in the phase of measuring the neuropsychological effects. The objective of this is to verify and validate the functionality and especially the effectiveness of the program in the rehabilitation of working memory. Many people have already filed several complaints saying that this is just another idea to give "false hope" to people, but in my opinion I think it's good that they are taking a little longer doing the necessary tests to know if the project really It is "true".
To be able to apply the rehabilitation tests, the doctor is in charge of measuring the potentiality of the evoked potentials, that is, the brain electrical activity of the patients, in their observations it must be that they have recovered the physiology they had prior to the CVD. In order to perform the tests, the following is necessary:
1. First, you need to identify and invite patients to collaborate.
2. You are given to sign an informed consent.
3. A series of neuropsychological evaluations are applied in which they record evoked potentials.
4. A blood sample is taken.
5. They are given access to the trainings
After the first evaluations with real patients, the doctor was able to identify improvements in the memory measured from the scale of retention of digits in direct reverse order, as well as in the index of working memory. In my opinion I think it is a great step and a great achievement for the young doctor, in her example you can see that anything you take with dedication and effort is achieved, nothing is impossible, it is just a matter of wanting to fight for our dreams and goals , applause for you, doctor, congratulations.
