The luxurious Italian brand was forced to cancel their fashion show in China on Wednesday because they published an advertisement that was racist to Chinese culture. This happened on the beginning of this week right after the ad was published. There were lots of
comments accusing D&G of being racist and disrespectful.

In the ad, a Chinese model was shown trying to eat pizza with chopsticks while a narrator explained her how to do it. This triggered all kinds of people around social media. Most of them complained about the ad portraying a stereotype of Chinese being ignorant. The impact on Chinese consumers was so bad that a lot of popular websites like Alibaba and JD.com decided to drop down D&G sales on their platforms.
As if all of this controversy was not bad enough for the brand's reputation, there were also some leaked screenshots from Stephano Gabbana and a co-worker. The conversation showed various comments that insulted China and called it "country of shit". However, the brand excuse itself saying both accounts, Stephano's and D&G's, had been hacked.

On Friday both, Gabbana and Dolce apologized to all Chinese people around the world. Yet, Chinese websites haven't said anything about selling the brand on online shops. It seems as if their mistake won't be forgiven this time...
