Another shooting was added to the 308 mass shootings in the United States since 2018 started, this being the 307th. The unfortunate event took place at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California at 23:15 on Wednesday, November 7. There were twelve shot victims and approximately 11 victims were wounded. The gunman was a 28-year-old US Marine Corps veteran.

The gunman opened fire with a .45 caliber Glock handgun that was purchased legally, but he also used an extended magazine that was illegal.

First, he shot the security guard that was at the entrance of the bar and then shot a female employee who was at the counter. He then proceeded to shot randomly at the rest of the victims. Some of them were able to escape through the windows of the place or any other opened gate.

Several calls were made to 911. One of the first police officers that attended the scene was Sgt. Ron Helus. Unfortunately, as soon as he entered the place, he was struck by multiple gunshots. He was taken to the hospital, but couldn't make it.

After the horrific event finished, a SWAT team and other law enforcement figures entered the scene to find Long's dead body. He shot himself.

It is said that minutes before the shooting, Long made a couple of Facebook posts about the reason why he was going to do it. However, this posts were not made public for Security Policies. Facebook and Instagram deleted his account.

We are 315 days in 2018, and the USA has had 308 massive shootings. People keep wondering why these happen, but there's still no major laws that control gun sale, possession or its use. Buying guns in the United States is easier than in any other countries because they give anyone permission to buy them without respecting certain regulations or just because those do not exist.
