Chemical attack ends in Russian sparks

Some hours ago, Russian warplanes opened fire against rebel-held areas in the Idlib province of Syria. This was the immediate response to the chemical attack held in Aleppo on November 24. The origin of this attack is still uncertain, because both the government and the rebel groups, denied carrying out the chemical strike. Nevertheless, this event broke the truce made between Russia and Turkey, who support different sides in the civil war. Causing the citizens of this country to be on hold for the next war movement.

The chemical attack in Aleppo has caused an approximate of 100 injured people. They presented symptoms such as difficulty breathing, shivering, fainting and eye inflammation between others. According to doctors and specialists, the possible chemical which was inside the explosives was chlorine. However, this isn’t the first chemical attack during the course of the civil war. Both of the sides have used chemical weapons before, so it is a real dilemma to know who is telling the truth due to the lack of evidence.

This conflict between the Syrian government and the rebel forces isn’t recent. It is a very strong and polemic matter that started on the year 2011. It involves different political, social and religious interests. That’s why countries such as Russia, Turkey, USA, Iran… have decided to support one of the sides according to what’s more convenient for them. As a consequence, this civil war has become an international issue, that affects several countries.

As I said previously, many countries have intervened in this civil war. However, there are two countries who have had a major role, Russia and Turkey. They have provided their sides with weapons, supplies, soldiers, etc. Also their armies have directly attacked the other side, causing the citizens to live in an environment of fear. Nevertheless, these two countries recently made a non-aggression pact that brought peace to the northern part of Syria for two months. But this recent attack was considered a violation to the truce and it brought back the tension in the zone. As a citizen of the world I just hope that the people in Syria find the peace soon.
